Documentary Voiceover

In documentaries, the voiceover’s central role is that of storyteller, mapping the arch of the listener’s journey in an engaging a way as possible. But long-form narration requires particular expertise in four areas:

As the narrator: suiting the delivery to the requirements of the piece, but also possessing the vocal stamina to maintain that through long periods of recording.

As director: being able to research and prepare the material in advance and self-direct throughout recording sessions with total self-sufficiency.

As an engineer: having a professional and consistent recording space, and ensuring the sound and vocal delivery is consistent no matter the project’s duration.

As a producer: being able to deliver fully-mastered recordings to stipulated styles and formats - content which is organised, consistent and ready to go.

Having voiced dozens of long form projects and been nominated for a One Voice Award for my documentary work, I would be delighted to discuss your narration needs further.
